Building on the incredible success of last year’s Design Month, this September, K11 is bringing back the popular event for the second time and incorporating it into an annual month long celebration of design and creativity. From exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, a pop-up design store to the celebrated annual Design Mart, this year’s K11 Design Month will offer a high calibre programme that promises to challenge, excite and broaden the horizons of all involved.
In a collaborative effort between K11 and the region’s best creative forces, universities and design organisations, K11 strives to create awareness of the achievements of the local industry as well as facilitate the public to think and discuss critically about design and living.

Design Mart 2013
Date: 4-6 October 2013
Location: Atrium, G/F-2/F
Attracting 120 designers, 81 stalls and over 150,000 of attendees, the annual Design Mart, hosted for the first time ever at K11 last year, was hugely popular. Building on last year’s phenomena, Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) and K11 have come together again to hold this popular event at K11 Art Mall, the befitting crowd-drawing platform for artists, emerging designers, design entrepreneurs to show and sell their products to the public.
The theme of this year’s Design Mart is “Embracing Design. Embracing Life”. The underlying message is: how good design can help attain tangible and sustainable improvements to our living environment. A truly good design, as oppose to “consumer excess” design is created by everybody for everybody, and solving a real human problem on life, such as scarce resources and related environmental issues.
